About
The staff of the Ridge Review is proud to announce that this publication is a public forum in practice. This status recognizes that administration and teachers, while they are granted final review authority by Supreme Court precedent (see the Tinker and Hazelwood decisions), agree to leave publishing decisions to the discretion of the students of the Ridge Review. As explained on the CSJ website, “Advisers teach and offer students advice, but they neither control nor make final decisions regarding content.” In layman’s terms, this means administration and teachers agree never to censor this publication. We have applied for recognition of our public forum status with the Kent State University Center for Scholastic Journalism.
The Ridge Review continues to grow with East Ridge High School. In order to aid that growth, you may consider applying to be on the newspaper staff (an informational brochure is available here, the application is available here).
If you are part of a business, or know of someone who is, you may consider advertising on this website.
All inquiries may be sent to ridgereviewstaff@gmail.com Replies will be forthcoming from our head of advertising, Jessica Robinson, our editor-in-chief, Emily Benson, or the newspaper adviser, Adam Hayes, depending on the nature of the request.
