Boredom

Once and a while you will find,

That boredom will take hold in your mind.

It’ll grasp it, and shake it, and then wring it dry,

When boredom comes here to stay.

If you were to live on an island overseas,

You would never ask for boredom, if you please.

You’d be shaken, and awaken, and then you would SCREAM,

Because anything’s better than when boredom comes in.

Day by day without an hour of change

It’s shoving your childhood out of range.

It’ll leave it to rust, to whither and wilt,

When boredom comes here to stay.

Not bad, but it would probably sound better if the syllables were more even in every line.
