Emily joined the staff at the beginning of the 2011-2012 school year.
Editor-in-Chief – Emily Benson
Emily writes for the sports desk as well she is an occasional contributor to the student life and A&E desks. She is a freshman at East Ridge and a member of the school’s swim team. She is also involved with the East Ridge Key Club. Emily has never written for a school newspaper before and she is very excited to try it out.
Advertising – Jessica Robinson
Jessica was born and raised in Woodbury, as were both of her parents. She plays soccer and lacrosse, though she is cutting back because, as she puts it, “the dreaded curse of being accident prone.” She is also part of the pit orchestra for the fall musical, “Beauty and the Beast,” Link Crew Leader, and part of the East Ridge Newspaper. Overall, she is ecstatic to add membership on the East Ridge newspaper team to the list of her extracurricular activities. Jessica is the editor of the opinion desk as well as she is an occasional contributor to photography.
Graphics – Molly Hamer
Molly was raised in Woodbury, having lived on a small farm near East Ridge for her whole life. She swims as her sport, as well as writing, drawing, and caring for her pets in her spare time. She also finds great pleasure with the computer, having her own website and DeviantART account where she shows pictures and graphics she has made. Molly is the editor of Poet’s Corner as well she contributes to graphic design for the website.

Jessica Gotz is a freshman at ERHS. Jessica can usually be found at a pool. She is on the East Ridge girls swimming and diving team during the fall, and swims with SEMS swim club for the rest of the year. She joined the Ridge Review staff because she loves to write. She is very excited to be a part of the newspaper team this year. Jessica is the editor of the academics desk as well she is an occasional contributor to the A&E desk.

Writer – David Kim
David has been a musical and creative person all of his life. He started on the piano and progressed to guitar, saxophone, bass guitar, and drums. His elementary school emphasized art, music, science and mathematics, so those are his best subjects. He is Christian and loves going to church and helping people wherever he can. He is interested in newspaper club because it seems like a good place to share his ideas. David writes for the A&E desk.

Erin was born in Woodbury, MN, where she has lived for her entire life. As a freshman, this is her first year at East Ridge. She runs cross country and track, and is very excited to be a part of the Ridge Review in its second year.
Photographer – Sophie Durand
Sophie Durand is a freshman at East Ridge High School. She first started taking photos of her brother’s sporting events when she was about 9 years old. She still enjoys photography to this day. Her hobbies include: playing softball, dancing, drawing, writing, and hanging out with her friends. This is her second year on a school newspaper staff, but her first time as a photographer. Sophie is excited to present her pictures for future Ridge Review articles and events.
